aho bata mahat pāpaṁ
kartuṁ vyavasitā vayam
yad rājya-sukha-lobhena
hantuṁ sva-janam udyatāḥ

Alas! Coveting possessions and enjoyments, ’tis strange that we thought of committing atrocious sin by attempting to massacre our kinsmen!
