EthAn hanthumichchAmi gnathOpi madhusUdhana |
api thrailOkyarAjyasya hEthO: kinnu mahIkruthE ||

madhusUdhana – Oh madhusUdhana (killer of demon madhu)!
gnatha: api – even if they are set out to kill (us)
EthAn – them
hanthum na ichchAmi – I don’t desire to kill them
thrai lOkyarAjyasya api hEthO: –  even to rule the 3 worlds
kim nu mahIkruthE – why killing them for the earth alone

Oh madhusUdhana! even if they are set out to kill us, I will not kill them. I don’t desire to kill them even to rule over the 3 worlds what to speak of killing them for the earth alone?

ghnato ’pi madhusūdana
api trailokya-rājyasya
hetoḥ kiṁ nu mahī-kṛte

Madhusūdana1! I would rather that I were killed than that I should desire to kill these, even if all the three worlds were to be my reward;- let the earth alone.
