Śri Bhagavān3 deprecates the ill-timed despondency of Arjuna, and counsels him to shake it off, and stand up for battle inasmuch as his is a sadness which is felt out of place; a sadness uncountenanced by wise men; a sadness antagonistic to higher-world interests; a sadness inglorious and ignoble; and a sadness which can only spring from a faint heart.
