yE chaiva sAthvikA bhAvA rAjasAs thAmasAS cha yE |
maththa EvEthi thAn vidhdhi na thvaham thEshu thE mayi ||

word-by-word meaning (based on puththUr krishNamAchArya swAmy’s thamizh translation)

yE cha Eva sAthvikA: bhAvA: – Those entities in this world which have abundance of sathva guNa (goodness)
yE cha (Eva) rAjasA: thAmasA: – those entities which have abundance of rajO guNa (passion) and thamO guNa (ignorance)
thAn maththa Eva ithi – that they are born from me only
thE mayi ithi – that they are in me
vidhdhi  – know;
aham thu – But I am
thEshu na – not dependent on them

Simple Translation (based on puththUr krishNamAchArya swAmy’s thamizh translation)

Those entities in this world which have abundance of sathva guNa (goodness), rajO guNa (passion) or thamO guNa (ignorance), know that they are born from me only and that they are in me; but I am not dependent on them.

Rendering based on ALkoNdavilli gOvindhAchArya swAmy’s English translation of gIthA bhAshyam

‘Those things that are sātvika1, and those, rājasa2 and tamasa3, know, they all deduce from Me alone. But I (am) not in them; in Me are they.’

Whatever things are in the Universe, severally of satva4,-rajas, -and tamas-characteristics, which combine and form into bodies and senses, and objects serving for enjoyment, know, they all are emanated from Me alone. Constituting My body as they do, they ever abide in Me5.

I am not in them‘, however. In the case of others, ātma is seen to depend on the body, deriving profit from such body, though it is true that without ātma, no body can as such keep together. But in My case, I am never dependent on body; never is there any purpose served Me by the things (in which I dwell). That I so order things, has no other purpose save that it is My will and pleasure; in other words, it is My sport (līlā6).

ye caiva sāttvikā bhāvā
rājasās tāmasāś ca ye
matta eveti tān viddhi
na tv ahaṁ teṣu te mayi
