vEdhAham samathIthAni varthamAnAni chArjuna |
bhavishyAṇi cha bhUthAni mAm thu vEdha na kaSchana ||

word-by-word meaning (based on puththUr krishNamAchArya swAmy’s thamizh translation)

arjuna – Oh arjuna!
samathIthAni – of the past
varthamAni – of the present
bhavishyAni cha – of the future
bhUthAni – all bound souls
aham – I
vEdha – know;
mAm thu – but me
kaSchana – not even one (among them)
na vEdha – knows truly

Simple Translation (based on puththUr krishNamAchArya swAmy’s thamizh translation)

Oh arjuna! I know all the bound souls of the past, present and future; but not even one (among them) knows me truly.

Rendering based on ALkoNdavilli gOvindhAchArya swAmy’s English translation of gIthA bhAshyam

‘All beings that were, are, and will be, I know, Arjuna!. But Me, not one knows.’

‘I know all the creatures of the past, of the present, and of the future, but none knows Me.’ This is meant to say that while to Me, all creatures, whether existing in the past, the present or the future, are objects of constant loving concern, no one discerns Me as Vāsudeva Incarnate, a Ready Refuge to him who may seek.

Hence, the jñāni or wisdom-ripe sage is very rare (See Proem to verse 20).

Simple

vedāhaṁ samatītāni
vartamānāni cārjuna
bhaviṣyāṇi ca bhūtāni
māṁ tu veda na kaścana

‘All beings that were, are, and will be, I know, Arjuna!. But Me, not one knows.’

‘I know all the creatures of the past, of the present, and of the future, but none knows Me.’ This is meant to say that while to Me, all creatures, whether existing in the past, the present or the future, are objects of constant loving concern, no one discerneth Me as Vāsudeva Incarnate, a Ready Refuge to him who may seek.
