arjuna uvAcha
dhrushtvEdham mAnusham rUpam thava saumyam janArdhana |
idhAnIm asmi samvruththa: sachEthA: prakruthim gatha: ||

word-by-word meaning (based on puththUr krishNamAchArya swAmy’s thamizh translation)

arjuna uvAcha – arjuna said
janArdhana – Oh janArdhana!
idham thava saumyam mAnusham rUpam – your this beautiful human form
dhrusthvA – having seen
idhAnIm – now
sachEthA: – having my heart regain its composure
samvruththa: asmi – have become satisfied.
prakruthim gatha: asmi – I have also regained my composure.

Simple Translation (based on puththUr krishNamAchArya swAmy’s thamizh translation)

arjuna said – Oh janArdhana! Now, having seen your this beautiful human form, I am having my heart regain its composure and have become satisfied. I have also regained my composure.

‘Seeing this, Your pleasing human Form, Janārdana!1 I am now serene and restored to my normal self.’

After gazing on this —Yourself in human vesture,— a Figure lovely to witness, and extraordinary as indexing the personal beauties of comeliness, tenderness, grace etc., my mind (or heart) has acquired placidity, and I feel like myself again.

Simple

arjuna uvāca
dṛṣṭvedaṁ mānuṣaṁ rūpaṁ
tava saumyaṁ janārdana
idānīm asmi saṁvṛttaḥ
sa-cetāḥ prakṛtiṁ gataḥ

‘Seeing this, Thy pleasing human Form, Janārdana!1 I am now serene and restored to my normal self.’
