When one is being affectionate towards one&#8217;s AthmA (which is blissful) with the mind (that is focussed on AthmA) and gives up all desires (on other matters) totally, at that time, he is known to be a sthitha pragya.<\/p>\n<h3>Rendering based on ALkoNdavilli gOvindhAchArya swAmy\u2019s English translation of gIthA bhAshyam<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u015ari Bhagav\u0101n (Lord K\u1e5bish\u1e47a) answers:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216;Then is he called \u2018<em>sthita-praj\u00f1a\u1e25<\/em>,\u2019 P\u0101rtha! when he shall have fully discarded all desires rooted in the heart, and when his mind shall have become solely <em>\u0100tm\u0101<\/em>-satisfied.'[1. This stage is called <em>Va\u015b\u012bk\u0101ra-Sa\u1e43j\u00f1\u0101<\/em>.]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whereas, when the peculiar occupation (of the Adept) is described, his character becomes known, therefore that occupation is described. By his mind (<em>\u0101tman\u0101<\/em>), being made to fully occupy itself with (thoughts of) \u0101tm\u0101 (soul) alone, he is said to be \u2018<em>\u0101tm\u0101<\/em>-satisfied.\u2019 When with mind so occupied (or absorbed), other desires abiding therein are thoroughly banished, then is he called \u2018<em>sthita-praj\u00f1a\u1e25<\/em>\u2019 (will-concentrated or wisdom-ripe).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is the ultimate stage (or climax) of wisdom-culture.
