A term generally applied to the four-faced Brahm\u0101, the lord commissioned to create his own single system in the vast kosmos, viz: the Brahm\u0101nda. It is also applied to Praj\u0101patis, the sons of Brahm\u0101. But here it signifies God Himself, the Universal Creator, the <em>Mah\u0101 Vish\u1e47u<\/em>, whose 70th and 199th name it is. Vish\u1e47u-pur\u0101\u1e47a says: &#8216;Kartu-k\u0101ma\u1e25 <em>praj\u0101pati\u1e25<\/em>.&#8217;] spoke (thus) in the past:- &#8220;With this, multiply; verily it is all-desire-giver (<em>k\u0101madhuk<\/em>).&#8221;&#8216;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As declared in the \u015aruti:-<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018The Lord of the Universe\u2019 (<em>Patim vi\u015bvasya\u00a0<\/em>)[5. Tait: Up: N\u0101r\u0101ya\u1e47am. VI-II.] etc., the term Praj\u0101pati is an unrestricted designation of N\u0101r\u0101ya\u1e47a [6. The import of this most Holy Name has already been noted as: The &#8220;All-Comprehending&#8221;, the 246th name of God (vide, footnote, p.2. Yogi Parthas\u0101r\u0101thy Aiyang\u0101r&#8217;s Hinduism. It is the 246th name of Vish\u1e47u. Read (1) Tait: Up: <em>N\u0101r\u0101ya\u1e47am<\/em> VI. (2) Atharva-\u015aikha, <em>N\u0101r\u0101ya\u1e47am<\/em>; (3) Mahopanishat-I; (4) Sub\u0101l-opanishat 6, and many other Upanishats.], the Lord of all, the Creator of the Universe, the Soul of the Universe (vi\u015bv\u0101tm\u0101[7. The 227th name of God.]), and the Supreme Resource (Par\u0101ya\u1e47a[8. The 592nd name of God. He from whom all <em>yama<\/em>, <em>niyama<\/em>, etc., are obtained. He from whom all <em>bhakti<\/em> qualifications referred to in Bh: G\u012b. <a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/11-54-original\/\">XI-54<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/18-53-original\/\">XVIII-53<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/18-54-original\/\">54<\/a>, are derived.]).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the past, this Praj\u0101pati, -the Bhagav\u0101n[9. Epithetic for God&#8230; &#8216;Bha&#8217; implies the Cherisher and Supporter of the Universe, &#8216;Ga&#8217; implies, the Leader, Impeller or Creator. &#8216;Bhaga&#8217; indicates the six properties, dominion, might, glory, splendour, wisdom and dispassion. &#8216;Va&#8217; implies that the Spirit dwells in all, and all dwell in It. Bhagav\u0101n is He Who has the 6 chief attributes, described earlier in the Introduction to Chapter 1. Vide Vish\u1e47u Pur\u0101\u1e47a VI-5, 79: &#8216;J\u00f1ana-\u015bakti-balai\u015bvarya-v\u012brya-tej\u0101msy-a\u015beshata\u1e25&#8217;, etc.],-intently reflected, at the time of creation, on the entities (<em>chit<\/em>), entangled in matter (<em>a-chit<\/em>) from an immemorial past. They were destitute of a name, of a form and of a distinction (one from the other), and embosomed in Him. They were fit for fulfilling great aims, but were lying latent like inert or unintelligent substances.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Praj\u0101pati, out of infinite mercy, looked on them, and wishing to work out their deliverance, created them (or projected them into manifestation). With them He inaugurated the institution of Yaj\u00f1as, so that they may worship Him thereby. And He spoke thus:-<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018By this (yaj\u00f1a), multiply yourselves (<em>\u0101tm\u0101s<\/em>)\u2019 (<a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/3-10-original\/\">iii-10<\/a>).
