Chapter 3<\/a><\/p>\n << Chapter 3 verse 11<\/a><\/p>\n ishtAn bhogAn hi vO dhEvA dhAsyanthE yagyabhAvithA: |<\/em> yagya bhAvithA: dhEvA: – dhEvas worshipped by sacrifices “dhEvas worshipped by sacrifices will give you raw materials which are required (for their worship subsequently); one who enjoys those materials himself instead of offering them to these dhEvas, is verily a thief”.<\/p>\n ‘The devas<\/em>, propitiated by sacrifice (yaj\u00f1a) will surely grant you all wished-for enjoyments. He is verily the thief who eats what is given by them without offering it to them.’<\/span><\/p>\n Yaj\u00f1a-bh\u0101vit\u0101\u1e25<\/em>=Honoured or recognised by yaj\u00f1as, i.e., worshipped. \u2018The devas<\/em>, of whom I am the soul, shall confer on you whatever enjoyments you may pray for.\u2019 This means that whatever good you receive from them shall be such as would enable you to worship the devas<\/em> again and again.<\/span><\/p>\n If one should enjoy the gifts granted by them with the view that they may be worshipped by you in return, without offering to them beforehand, he is a thief indeed.<\/span><\/p>\n Chaurya<\/em> is larceny.
