Let the wise heartily (<em>yukta\u1e25<\/em>) enter into works, to encourage them.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <em>unwise<\/em> (<em>avidv\u0101msa\u1e25<\/em>): are the unlearned in all the wisdom concerning \u0101tm\u0101.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Attached to works<\/em>: are those who wed themselves to works entirely, who lacking knowledge of <em>\u0101tm\u0101<\/em>, are unable to take up j\u00f1\u0101na; or those who are but fitted to walk the Path of Works, which to them is the sole Means by which to achieve \u0101tm\u0101-illumination.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let the wise man also behave like the work-attached person, albeit his possession of full \u0101tm\u0101-knowledge, and albeit absence of interest for him in the result of works, and who is fit to walk in the Path of <em>j\u00f1\u0101na-yoga<\/em>. For,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He is looked up to by the world as the best pattern for imitation. To profit the world therefore, by dictating to it the principles of right and wrong, he must set a personal example; which is, by himself treading the Path of Works.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <em>unwise<\/em> are the moksha-aspirants, who ignorant of a thorough knowledge of \u0101tm\u0101, are incapable of adopting the <em>j\u00f1\u0101na-yoga<\/em> method.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They are <em>work-attached<\/em> (<em>karma-sangi\u1e47a\u1e25<\/em>): or those who from the persistence of past habits of doing works, have inherited the same tendencies, fitting them for that Path (<em>Karma-Yoga<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let not the intention of such people be unhinged by preaching to them the existence of other methods\u2014besides karma-yoga-by which \u0101tm\u0101-cognition may be accomplished.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What the wise man has to do in these circumstances, is to seem as if, like the work-attached persons, he is at one heartily (<em>yukta\u1e25<\/em>) with them for work, and that <em>Karma-yoga<\/em> alone, with no extraneous help of <em>J\u00f1\u0101na-yoga<\/em> is sufficient to lead to \u0101tm\u0101-illumination.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By taking the lead thus in the Karma-Path, he must inspire other people with love for good works (so that eventually they may become competent to take higher steps and reach perfection).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The difference between how the wise man practices <em>Karma-Yoga<\/em>, \u2014and how the unwise man\u2014, having been pointed out, the doctrine of how one may act, and yet contemplate on disownment of responsibility as actor, is now inculcated.\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/3-27-original\/\">&gt;&gt; Chapter 3 verse 27<\/a><\/p>\n<p>archived in <a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\">https:\/\/githa.koyil.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>pramEyam (goal) \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/koyil.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">http:\/\/koyil.org<\/a><br \/>\npramANam (scriptures) \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\">http:\/\/granthams.koyil.org<\/a><br \/>\npramAthA (preceptors) \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\">http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org<\/a><br \/>\nSrIvaishNava education\/kids portal \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/pillai.koyil.org\/\">http:\/\/pillai.koyil.org<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SrI:\u00a0 SrImathE SatakOpAya nama:\u00a0 SrImathE rAmAnujAya nama:\u00a0 SrImath varavaramunayE nama: Chapter 3 &lt;&lt; Chapter 3 verse 25 Simple na buddhi-bheda\u1e41 janayed aj\u00f1\u0101n\u0101\u1e41 karma-sa\u1e45gin\u0101m jo\u1e63ayet sarva-karm\u0101\u1e47i vidv\u0101n yukta\u1e25 sam\u0101caran &#8216;Let not be unsettled, the mind of the unwise, attached to works.
