It is to Me as My body, standing to Me in the relation of disposable property (<em>\u015besha-bh\u016btam<\/em>) ; and it derives all its impulses from Me (explained in <a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/3-30-original\/\">verse 30<\/a>, ante).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whoso, then, do not contemplate and act conformably to this law or truth; whoso, otherwise, are not earnest; whoso, otherwise again, may take to cavilling, know them all to be utterly destitute of any knowledge. Therefore they are to be considered as deprived of understanding and lost[1. Lost means, incapable of rising to those heights of perfection which is in the power of souls. Also in verse <a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/3-33-5-original\/\">3.33.5<\/a>: <em>Nashta\u1e25<\/em> is literally he who is lost. Ved\u0101nt\u0101ch\u0101rya explains that \u2018the loss\u2019 means that the man becomes incapacitated to work for higher spiritual objects (<em>purush\u0101rth-\u0101yogyam<\/em>).].<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Understanding or intelligence (<em>cheta\u1e25<\/em>) is that which gives to one the true knowledge of things; in its absence their knowledge would be pervert or crooked (<em>vipar\u012bta-j\u00f1\u0101na<\/em>), and uttermost ignorance then prevails.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thus, it has been shown that \u2018actorship\u2019 arises from union with matter, from its (matter\u2019s) qualities (gu\u1e47as) being provoked by the contact; and that this is (ultimately) dependent on the Supreme Spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reflecting in this manner, <em>Karma-Yoga<\/em> is meet, both for him who is competent for the Path of <em>Karma-Yoga<\/em>, and for him who is competent for the Path of <em>J\u00f1\u0101na-Yoga<\/em>. <em>Karma-Yoga<\/em> is meet for both (it was explained), on account of its facility, exemption from dangers, and requiring no help of other methods for its prosecution, inasmuch as in it is involved a (required amount of the) knowledge of \u0101tm\u0101; whereas <em>J\u00f1\u0101na-Yoga<\/em> is difficult to practise, susceptible of failures, and inasmuch as some <em>karma<\/em>, \u2014such as that required to find the wherewithal to maintain bodily existence\u2014 is necessarily demanded (without which how is any one to perform any yoga at all?)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also it was pointed out how necessary it was for a man of distinction to specially engage in <em>karma<\/em> (as an example to the world).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What the difficulties and the dangers are in respect of <em>J\u00f1\u0101na-Yoga<\/em>, are now explained in the remaining portion of this (third) Lecture:\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/3-33-original\/\">&gt;&gt;
