The loves and hates hold him in their (iron) grip, and drive the man to the committal of acts conforming with the (material) nature (he has inherited).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He is thus turned from his purpose of realizing the bliss of \u0101tm\u0101-nature and is lost.[1. <em>Nashta\u1e25<\/em> is literally he who is lost. Ved\u0101nt\u0101ch\u0101rya explains that \u2018the loss\u2019 means that the man becomes incapacitated to work for higher spiritual objects (<em>purush\u0101rth-\u0101yogyam<\/em>).
