It is best to die (even without achieving the results within the same life time) while practicing karma yOga which is one&#8217;s own means, but gyAna yOga which is applicable for others instills fear (since it can be destroyed by practicing it incorrectly).<\/p>\n<h3>Rendering based on ALkoNdavilli gOvindhAchArya swAmy\u2019s English translation of gIthA bhAshyam<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216;Though wanting in merit, better is one\u2019s own <em>Dharma<\/em>[1. Prescribed duty. The ways of virtue.] than another\u2019s <em>Dharma<\/em>[2. Prescribed duty. The ways of virtue.] well performed. In one\u2019s own <em>Dharma<\/em>, death is noble; others\u2019 <em>Dharma<\/em>[3. Prescribed duty. The ways of virtue.] is danger-fraught.'[4. Prescribed duty. The ways of virtue.] or prescribed duty (by \u015a\u0101stra) <em>viz<\/em>., <em>karma-yoga<\/em>, is the best, albeit it be destitute of great virtues in it. Such duty (<em>dharma<\/em>) is easy to discharge, and unattended with risk. Whereas, to the man who is wedded to matter, <em>j\u00f1\u0101na-yoga<\/em>, \u2014though assuredly it is most excellent\u2014 is most difficult of achievement. <em>J\u00f1\u0101na-yoga<\/em> is besides surrounded by danger, though the Path indeed is shorter than <em>karma-yoga<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Karma-yoga<\/em> comes to a man easily and most naturally befitting him. Death, he may encounter, before, by this method, he is able, in one life, to achieve his purpose; but his progress does not get barred by any obstacles. In his next birth, the thread of previously accomplished progress is easily picked up and continued.[6.
