Chapter 4<\/a><\/p>\n << Chapter 4 verse 12<\/a><\/p>\n chAthurvarNyam mayA srushtam guNakarmavibhAgaSa: |<\/em> chAthur varNyam – all worlds which are presided by the four varNas (classes namely brAhmaNa, kshathriya, vaiSya and SUdhra) (due to that) All worlds which are presided by the four varNas were created by me who is the sarvESvara<\/a>,\u00a0 based on the classification of guNa (qualities) such as sathva, rajas and thamas and based on the classification of karma (activities) such as Sama (control of mind) and dhama (control of senses). Though I am the creator for this amazing creation etc., know me as not the creator for variegated nature (highs and lows) of creation etc and due to that, to be faultless.<\/p>\n A few points to add clarity:<\/p>\n ‘The fourfold var\u1e47a<\/em>[2. The four var\u1e47as<\/em> are Br\u0101hma\u1e47a, Kshatriya, Vai\u015bya and \u015a\u016bdra. The four a\u015bramas<\/em> are Brahmacharya (bachelor and student), G\u0101rhastya (married life), V\u0101naprastha (retired forest life) and Sany\u0101sa (monastic or ascetic life).] (class or caste) was created by Me according to dispositions (gu\u1e47a<\/em>), and occupations (karma<\/em>). Though I am its Creator, know Me to be the Imperishable Non-creator.’<\/span><\/p>\n The whole Universe, from the (four-faced) Brahm\u0101 down to the blade of grass, is divided by Me into the four-fold classification, in conformity with the dispositions, or qualities, viz<\/em>, satva<\/em>[3. \u2018Tamas<\/em> \u015b\u016bdre, raja\u1e25<\/em> kshatre, br\u0101hma\u1e47e satvam<\/em>-uttamam\u2019. i.e., tamas<\/em>-quality in the \u015a\u016bdra<\/em>-class, rajas<\/em>-quality in the kshatriya<\/em>-class, and satva<\/em>-quality in the br\u0101hma\u1e47a<\/em>-class. (T\u0101tparya-chandrika<\/em>).] etc., and in conformity with the occupations[4. As described in Gi XXIII-41<\/a>. ‘Br\u0101hma\u1e47a kshatriya vi\u015b\u0101m’ etc.] (or communal division of labour), suited to the qualities that the several classes possess; for example: the practice of the \u015bama<\/em> quality, (or restraint of the desires etc., by the br\u0101hma\u1e47a). \u2018Creation\u2019 (s\u1e5bishti<\/em>) implies the other conditions of the Universe, viz<\/em>; that of sustentation (for a period) and disappearance, \u2014all which, I do.<\/span><\/p>\n Though I am the Author of these several acts, creation etc., know Me yet to be No-author.<\/span><\/p>\n How (Author and yet No-author)?
