All these come under wealth-sacrifices.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Others betake themselves to <em>tapas-sacrifices<\/em>. <em>Tapas<\/em> is austerity (or penance or mortification of the flesh). Its modes are known as K\u1e5bicchra, Ch\u0101ndr\u0101ya\u1e47a[5. Expiatory penances. See Manu XI-217, Hem\u0101dri and other Dharma-\u015a\u0101stras which give detailed rules. <em>Tapas<\/em>, Rajendralal Mitra L.L.D., C. I.E., translates, as &#8216;religious austerity or self-denial&#8217;, p. 60. <em>Yoga S\u016btras<\/em>.], fasting etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Others resort to <em>yoga-sacrifices<\/em>. <em>Yoga<\/em> here refers to a variety of karma-yoga, in agreement with the subject that is discussed here. Yoga means joining.
