Chapter 5<\/a><\/p>\n << Chapter 5 verse 12<\/a><\/p>\n Simple<\/a><\/p>\n sarva-karm\u0101\u1e47i manas\u0101 ‘Neither doing aught<\/a>, nor causing any act, the embodied mentally consigns all acts to the nine-gated city (body), and sits therein the happy victor.’<\/span><\/p>\n Distinguishing in the mind that all authorship of work rests in the body, \u2014with which \u0101tma is conjoined as a result of past deeds\u2014, and that, therefore, authorship does not proceed as an essential attribute of \u0101tma, the embodied \u0101tma shall assign all acts to the nine-gated city (body). Himself, independent (va\u015bi<\/em> or victor), remains happy, not doing aught<\/a> as a consequence of his residing in the body, nor causing the body to act.<\/span><\/p>\n What is really the true nature of (this independent) \u0101tma?
