Another rendering of 17: &#8216;Those who, set the whole intellect on <em>that<\/em>, the whole heart on <em>that<\/em>, strive for <em>that<\/em>, view <em>that<\/em> as the only goal, go, wisdom-wiped of stain, to whence there is no return.].&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Tad-budd\u1e25aya\u1e25<\/em>=Those, having all the understanding (<em>buddhi<\/em>= or will, reasoning, or intellect) employed on <em>that<\/em> i.e., employed to secure \u0101tma-vision of the kind described (<a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/5-16-original\/\">V-16<\/a>, <em>ante<\/em>). (Understanding or intellect fixed, is <em>meditation<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Tad-\u0101tm\u0101na\u1e25<\/em>=Those, having all the mind (<em>\u0101tma<\/em>=<em>manas<\/em>) centred on <em>that<\/em>, i.e., making \u0101tma the sole subject of (loving) reflection. (Intellect is mere thought, but mind involves emotion. Hence engrossment is when a desired object takes loving possession of the heart).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Tan-nish\u1e6dh\u0101\u1e25<\/em>=Those, who practise earnestly all that is necessary to take them to their desired end. Practice is <em>pursuit<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Tat-par\u0101ya\u1e47a\u1e25<\/em>=Those whose single noble <em>aim<\/em> is \u0101tma alone. Wisdom, cultivated (or consciousness developed) in the above-said fashion, removes all taint; and they (of these qualifications) will reach \u0101tma, which, once awake, there is no falling back from <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/thence\">thence<\/a> to forgetfulness (which is existence in restricted and conditioned grades of consciousness.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When that state (or estate) of \u0101tma is reached, from which \u0101tma does not fall back (or return), it is called the non-reverting <em>that<\/em>.
