when<br \/>\nchiththam &#8211; heart<br \/>\nAthmani Eva &#8211; exclusively in the AthmA<br \/>\nviniyatham &#8211; being engaged<br \/>\navathishtathE &#8211; being fully fixed<br \/>\nthadhA &#8211; at that time<br \/>\nsarva kAmEbhya: &#8211; towards all material aspects<br \/>\nni:spruha: &#8211; yOgi whose desires are eliminated<br \/>\nyuktha: ithi &#8211; as yuktha<br \/>\nuchyathE &#8211; said<\/p>\n<h3>Simple Translation  <\/h3>\n<p>When a yOga practitioner&#8217;s heart is exclusively engaged in the AthmA, is fully fixed on it and his desires towards all material aspects are eliminated, at that time such yOgi is called\u00a0 &#8220;yuktha&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h3>Rendering based on ALkoNdavilli gOvindhAchArya swAmy\u2019s English translation of gIthA bhAshyam<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216;Then is he called yoga-fit (<em>yukta<\/em>), untouched by any desire, when the fickle mind (<em>chitta<\/em>) is firmly planted in \u0101tma.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216;The mind firmly planted in \u0101tma&#8217; means : making the mind so to dwell on \u0101tma as to make \u0101tma to be its highest object of ambition, or highest goal, and so keeping the mind riveted to \u0101tma, <em>i.e.<\/em>, let it never stray away from \u0101tma.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When the mind is so tutored, then he becomes weaned from all lusting after a multiplicity of desires.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And then, he is called <em>yukta<\/em> (harmonized), or he who is fit for practicing meditation (yoga).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/6-19\">&gt;&gt;
