Such yOga must be positively performed by the yOgi who has a pleasant mind.<\/p>\n<h3>Rendering based on ALkoNdavilli gOvindhAchArya swAmy\u2019s English translation of gIthA bhAshyam<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216;Know, <em>that<\/em> is called meditation (yoga), \u2014the disunion from union with pain; <em>that<\/em>, into which one, with misery-less mind, shall positively penetrate.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That meditation, wherein, by dint of practice, the completely abstracted mind feasts, <em>i.e.<\/em>, wherein it gets transported with ecstatic felicity;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wherein, the mind, perceiving \u0101tma, attains supreme contentment, leaving nothing else to be desired for;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wherein is experienced by the intellect, that ineffable bliss, beyond the range of the senses to comprehend.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wherein, established, one does not desire to give up the exquisite happiness felt;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Which (meditation) when achieved, one, even in the hours of non-meditation, does not think there is any higher gain;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That, wherein established, one, whether immersed in its (meditation\u2019s) depths or risen therefrom (<em>virata\u1e25<\/em>), is not shaken by afflictions even as grave as the bereavement (by death) of bright and good sons etc.,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Learn <em>that<\/em> is called meditation which shall sever connection with affliction; or meditation is that which is antithetical to affliction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Knowing the nature of meditation to be such, one should enter its portals with the mind steeped in faith (or certitude), and freed from all embarassments, <em>i.e.<\/em>, a mind happy and contented.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/6-24\">&gt;&gt;
