Cp. <em>Sub: Up:<\/em> X-(Sarva-lok\u0101 \u0101tmani brahma\u1e47i ma\u1e47aya iv-aut\u0101\u015bcha<br \/>\nprota\u015bcheti.]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the Antary\u0101mi-Br\u0101hma\u1e47a[3. <em>Brih: Up:<\/em> V-7-22.] and other Upanishad[4. <em>Sub: Up: Khanda<\/em> VI.] passages, the (substance-plus-attribute-like) co-existence of the Universe and Brahm, in the relationship of body and Soul, is set forth thus:\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018To Whom earth is body, of which He is Soul etc; &#8230;.; He is the Divine Lord, the one, N\u0101r\u0101ya\u1e47a.\u2019[5. Brih: Up: V-7-22 + Sub: Up\u00b0: VI. (Yasya p\u1e5bithiv\u012b \u015bar\u012bram &#8230;&#8230; Divyo Deva Eko N\u0101r\u0101ya\u1e47ah).]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hence, all things constitute the body of Paramapurusha[6. <em>Parama-Purusha<\/em> = Synonym <em>Purushottama<\/em>(&#8216;The Super-excellent Person&#8217;, the 24th name of God, (vide also, P\u0101ta\u00f1jala Yoga-S\u016btra I.24, (which says <em>purusha-vi\u015bes\u1e25<\/em>) &#8211; Purusha is the common term to denote a <em>thinking<\/em> substance from an <em>unthinking<\/em> substance. <em>Utpurusha<\/em>=bound soul; <em>uttara-purusha<\/em>=liberated soul, <em>uttama-purusha<\/em>=the ever-free soul; <em>Purushottama<\/em>=Soul Supreme=God.): <em>Purusha<\/em> means etymologically He who grants abundance; &#8220;<em>puru=bahu, sanoti=dad\u0101ti.<\/em>&#8221; Thus Parama-Purusha means the Supreme all-Giver.], Who ensouls them. All things thus are predicative to, or modes of, Paramapurusha; hence Paramapurusha alone exists (the <em>substans<\/em>), adjectivated by everything else. All terms are thus connotations of Him, by the rule of <em>s\u0101m\u0101n\u0101dhikara\u1e47ya<\/em>, or the rule which expresses the inseparable relation existing between substance and attribute, or the invariable co-existence of subject and predicate.
