Very dear indeed am I to the j\u00f1\u0101ni; he also is dear to Me.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of these four classes, the <em>j\u00f1\u0101ni<\/em> or the God-lover is the most distinguished, for he is, <em>nitya-yukta\u1e25<\/em> and <em>eka-bhakti\u1e25<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Nitya-yukta\u1e25<\/em>=ever-united, <em>i.e.<\/em>, ever-united to Me, by reason of My being his sole Goal. Others establish relations with Me only so long as their objects of desire are gained [or classes (1), (2), (3), <a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/7-16-original\/\">verse 16<\/a>, ante].<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Eka-bhakti\u1e25<\/em>=single-loving, <em>i.e.<\/em>, I am to the <em>j\u00f1\u0101ni<\/em>, his exclusively single Object of love; to the others, their love for Me has but the motive of gaining their several objects of desire, using Me as but the means by which to gain them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hence the <em>j\u00f1\u0101ni<\/em> is My Elect.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And what is more?:\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To the <em>j\u00f1\u0101ni<\/em>, I am the Object of his most passionate love. <em>Atyartha<\/em>=most, means beyond description or beyond utterance or expression.[1. Cp: the striking parallel to <em>Bhakti<\/em> in the words of St: Augustine: &#8220;Quid est credere in Deum ? credend amare, credendo diligere, credendo in eurn ire, et ejus membris incorporari.&#8221; Meaning: what is to believe in God? Believing is loving (with passionate warmth =the love of <em>emotion<\/em>); Believing is loving (with reasoned attachment &#8211; the love of <em>esteem<\/em>): Believing is to pass in to Him, to be incorporated with his members.] The <em>j\u00f1\u0101ni&#8217;s<\/em> love for Me is so deep and abundant,\u2014so it is meant\u2014that even for Me, the Omniscient and Omnipotent, it is difficult to fathom.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His love (for Me) can have no limits assigned to it, as in the case of Prahl\u0101da,\u2014the pre-eminent among the <em>j\u00f1\u0101nis<\/em>,\u2014of whom it is said:\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216;Though bitten by huge snakes, he did not know (or feel) he had a body; so much was his mind devotionally immersed in K\u1e5bish\u1e47a; so transported by rapture induced by incessant recollections of Him'[2. <em>Vish\u1e47u-pur\u0101\u1e47a<\/em>: I-17-39. \u2018Satv\u0101sakta mati\u1e25 K\u1e5bish\u1e47e dasyam\u0101no mahoragaih, na vived-\u0101tmano g\u0101tram tat-smrity-\u0101hl\u0101da-samsthita\u1e25\u2019.].<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He <em>also<\/em>[3. <em>Also<\/em> has here the force: &#8216;<em>My<\/em> love to him is cool compared with the warmth and intensity of <em>his<\/em> love to Me.
