Chapter 8<\/a><\/p>\n << Chapter 8 verse 7<\/a><\/p>\n Simple<\/a><\/p>\n abhy\u0101sa-yoga-yuktena ‘With mind, unwandering elsewhere, and inured to meditation, P\u0101rtha[1. Epithet of Arjuna, being a descendant of P\u1e5bithu-Chakravarti.]! one, by fervid recollection, goeth to Parama-purusha[2. Parama-Purusha<\/em> = Synonym Purushottama<\/em>(‘The Super-excellent Person’, the 24th name of God, (vide also, P\u0101ta\u00f1jala Yoga-S\u016btra I.24, (which says purusha-vi\u015bes\u1e25<\/em>) – Purusha is the common term to denote a thinking<\/em> substance from an unthinking<\/em> substance. Utpurusha<\/em>=bound soul; uttara-purusha<\/em>=liberated soul, uttama-purusha<\/em>=the ever-free soul; Purushottama<\/em>=Soul Supreme=God.): Purusha<\/em> means etymologically He who grants abundance; “puru=bahu, sanoti=dad\u0101ti.<\/em>” Thus Parama-Purusha means the Supreme all-Giver.], -Divine.’<\/span><\/p>\n By meditation, daily practised, the mind is to be fixed thereto and not permitted to wander away elsewhere. With the mind so trained, I am to be thought of at the time of death, as the Paramapurusha-Divine, and so on in the manner further explained (verses 9<\/a> and 10<\/a>). So thought of, one reaches Me alone.
