with bhakthi<br \/>\nyOga balEna &#8211; with the strength of such [bhakthi] yOga<br \/>\nachalEna manasA &#8211; with the heart that is not chasing lowly pleasures<br \/>\nprayANa kAlE &#8211; during the last moments, at the time of death<br \/>\nbhruvO: madhyE prANam AvESya &#8211; holding the vital life air in between the eye-brows<br \/>\nya: &#8211; whosoever<br \/>\ndhivyam param purusham &#8211; that divine parama purusha (supreme lord)<br \/>\nsamyak anusmarEth &#8211; meditates upon well<br \/>\nsa: &#8211; he<br \/>\ntham Eva &#8211; that supreme purusha only<br \/>\nupaithi &#8211; attains (implies that he attains the wealth that is similar to that of such parama purusha).<\/p>\n<h3>Simple Translation  <\/h3>\n<p>&#8230; whosoever with bhakthi, with the strength of such [bhakthi] yOga and with the heart that is not chasing lowly pleasures, during the last moments, at the time of death, holding the vital life air in between the eye-brows, meditates well upon that divine supreme purusha (supreme lord) only, he attains that supreme purusha only (implies that he attains the wealth that is similar to that of such parama purusha).<\/p>\n<h3>Rendering based on ALkoNdavilli gOvindhAchArya swAmy\u2019s English translation of gIthA bhAshyam<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216;With, at time of departure, unwavering mind united to Bhakti, (God-love) and fortified by Yoga (meditation); and with Pr\u0101\u1e47a well drawn in between the brows; (he) reaches that Purusha, Divine.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Kavim<\/em>=<em>Sage<\/em>=<em>Sarvaj\u00f1am<\/em>=Him, who is Omniscient.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Pur\u0101\u1e47am<\/em>=The Ancient or Primeval.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Anus\u0101sit\u0101ram<\/em>=The Ruler or Law-Giver of the Universe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>A\u1e47or-a\u1e47\u012by\u0101msam<\/em>=The Minutose of the minute, or the Subtler than the subtile \u0101tma (<em>j\u012bv-\u0101tma<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Sarvasya-dh\u0101t\u0101ram<\/em>=The Creator of all.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Achintya-r\u016bpam<\/em>=Possessing a Form inconceivable, <em>i.e.<\/em>, not conceivable by comparison with other things conceivable, or Form transcendental; and Sun-Colored, or resplendently glorious as (for example) the Sun is; and beyond <em>tamas<\/em> (<em>tamas<\/em>=darkness=matter) meaning : possessing a metaphysical transcendant luminous divine Form, beyond our limited conception.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whoso, with mind made steady and strengthened by the daily practice of meditative devotion (<em>Bhakti-yukta-yoga-balena<\/em>) gathers up, at the time of death, the pr\u0101\u1e47a or life-breath at the point between the brows; and intently thinks at that place, of the Purusha Divine (or Spirit of God in the way described), goes to Himself, or achieves a state equal to Divinity; i.e., will become possessed of a power and glory such as those pertaining to Divinity Itself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next is described the mode of meditation, to be adopted by the \u0101tma-seeker (<em>Kaivaly-\u0101rthi<\/em> or jij\u00f1\u0101su).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/8-11\">&gt;&gt;
