Chapter 8<\/a><\/p>\n << Chapter 8 verses 25<\/a><\/p>\n Simple<\/a><\/p>\n \u015bukla-k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47e gat\u012b hy ete ‘Verily are these Paths \u2014the White and the Black\u2014 permanently ordained for the Kosmos. By the one, the non-returning (state) is reached, by the other, there is return again.’<\/span><\/p>\n The White Path is the archir-\u0101di<\/em>, the Black is the dh\u016bm-\u0101di<\/em>. He who goes, by the White Path, goes to that, from which he returns not; but by the Dark Path, he turns back. The White is for the two kinds of the j\u00f1\u0101nis (the God-seeker, and the \u0101tma-seeker), and the Black is for the man who does meritorious work (entitling him to reap material pleasures). These two Paths for the three kinds of devotees (wealth-seeker, soul-seeker and God-seeker), are thus declared in the \u015aruti:\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n \u2018(1) Those who understand it (\u0101tma) thus, and (2) those who in forest (retired place) meditate on \u015araddh\u0101-Tapas (or Mother-Father aspect of God), join the Archi<\/em>(= the Bright Path). Then, those who in their own place (or village) devote themselves to sacrifices (=ishti<\/em>), public works (=p\u016brtam<\/em>=constructing tanks, wells etc)., charities (=dattam<\/em>), and other pious acts (iti<\/em>), join the Dh\u016bma<\/em> (= the Smoky Path)\u2019[1.
