Chapter 9<\/a><\/p>\n Simple<\/a><\/p>\n \u015br\u012b-bhagav\u0101n uv\u0101ca \u015ar\u012b Bhagav\u0101n continued:\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n ‘This, the highest mystery of j\u00f1\u0101na coupled with vij\u00f1\u0101na, I shall declare to thee, \u2014the artless,\u2014 knowing which thou shalt, from all that is impure, be delivered.’<\/span><\/p>\n The fundamental principles distinguishing the different kinds of (God)-devotees (up\u0101sakas<\/em>), were discussed (in Lect: VIII<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n Now (in Lect IX) (1), the glorious greatness of Parama-Purusha, the Object of devotion; (2) The importance of the j\u00f1\u0101nis<\/em> (God-Saints) ; and (3) The nature of devotion called Bhakti or Up\u0101sana (God-love), will be examined into:<\/span><\/p>\n K\u1e5bish\u1e47a, addressing Arjuna, says:\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n \u2018To thee Arjuna! who art artless, I will impart the mysterious knowledge (j\u00f1\u0101na<\/em>) relating to bhakti or devotional contemplation,\u2019 and the further knowledge (vij\u00f1\u0101na<\/em>) relating to the important goal to which it leads.[1. This mystery of the Path of Bhakti is again taught in the XVIIIth Lecture<\/a>, vide verses, 64<\/a> and 66<\/a>, (called charama-\u015bloka<\/em>).
