Chapter 9<\/a><\/p>\n << Chapter 9 verse 14<\/a><\/p>\n Simple<\/a><\/p>\n j\u00f1\u0101na-yaj\u00f1ena c\u0101py anye ‘Others again worship Me with the Sacrifice of Knowledge[2. Or what may be called the “homage of intellectual worship”.], and (so) meditate on Me as the Unity, the Distinctivity, the Diversity, the Infinity?'[3. This verse explains the pure mental form of contemplative devotion without bodily service).]<\/span><\/p>\n Others, the great-souled, there are, who by means of the aforesaid methods of hymning etc., meditate on Me with what is called the \u2018Knowledge-Sacrifice\u2019[4. Or what may be called the “homage of intellectual worship”.]. How? By reflecting Me as the Unity comprising the infinite varied diversity displayed in the form of the Kosmos. The gist of the teaching here is, thus, this:\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n The Blessed Lord V\u0101sudeva[5. See note to verse 7.19<\/a>; note 2, Chapter 8 Proem<\/a>.] alone is (the Unity) having as his body in the most tenuous subtle state, the Principles of Intelligents (chit<\/em>) and Non-intelligents (achit<\/em>), having no names, forms or divisions (or partition). By His unopposable Will he resolves: \u2018I shall be as My manifested mode having for My body the Principles of Intelligents and Non-intelligents in their gross state, having names, forms and divisions.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n Hence, He Himself, the Unity, is seen as in His manifested Kosmic body, exhibiting the marvellous variety of existences, such as the devas<\/em>, the human, the animal and the stationary kingdoms.
