Chapter 9<\/a><\/p>\n << Chapter 9 verse 18<\/a><\/p>\n thapAmyaham aham varsham nigruhNAmyuthsrujAmi cha | <\/em> arjuna – Oh arjuna! Oh arjuna! I give warmth, I absorb the rain water and give the rain water too; I am the entities which sustain and destroy people of the world, I am all the entities of the present, past and future.<\/p>\n ‘I give heat; I send, and also hold back, rain; I am Immortality as well as Death; and Sat and Asat am I, Arjuna!’.[1. During the summer season etc., I hold back rain, and in the rainy season etc., I give it forth.<\/span><\/p>\n I am Immortality=the Life by which the world lives. I am Death or that by which the world becomes destroyed.<\/span><\/p>\n Not to be prolix, I am Sat<\/em>=Ens<\/em>, and Asat<\/em>=Non-ens<\/em>. Sat<\/em>=Existence= that which exists in the present time. Asat<\/em> = Non-existence=that which existed in the past, that which may exist in the future. I am thus He who exists in every mode in which the sum of things Intelligent and Non-intelligent, composing My body, exists.<\/span><\/p>\n The noble-souled (Mah\u0101tmas<\/em>, referred to in verse 13<\/a>, ante<\/em>) are, thus, those who contemplate Me as the Unity, corporeally manifesting Itself in multiformity and multeity, in the macrocosmic scene.
