Thus do the addictors to the ways of the three (Vedas), \u2014pursuers of desires,\u2014 obtain the transitory (states).'[2. And <em>Bh\u0101g<\/em> III-32-21: &#8216;Tatas te ksh\u012b\u1e47a-suk\u1e5bit\u0101lh &amp;c.&#8217;]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Three Vidyas or Lower Spiritual Sciences are the three Vedas, Rik, Yajus and S\u0101ma. The followers of these are called the <em>Trai-vidy\u0101\u1e25<\/em>. They are mere followers of these, and not the devotees of the <em>Ends<\/em> of the Vedas, or the Ved\u0101ntas (= Upanaishads=Theosophy=Divine Wisdom =The Highest Spiritual Science). The latter, the followers of the Ved\u0101ntas are indeed the Mah\u0101tmas (High Souls). And it is they who, as beforementioned, know Myself, as the Object, taught by all the Vedas to be known, and by \u2018chanting My hymns\u2019 etc., (<a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/9-14-original\/\">verse 14<\/a>) and intellectually contemplating Me by the \u2018Sacrifice of Knowledge\u2019 etc., (<a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/9-15-original\/\">verse 15<\/a>,) \u2014both stimulated by their intense love for Me\u2014 worship Myself as their sole Acme of ambition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whereas, those who are addicted to the three Vedas pray for Svarga as their chief end, by partaking of the Soma[3. The juice of the &#8216;Asclepias or Aesculapius&#8217;. But A\u1e47na More\u015bvar Kunte in his work <em>Asht\u0101nga-h\u1e5bidaya<\/em> says, it is &#8216;Sarcostema Viminalis&#8217;. (P:3).] after offering it to Indra and other ordinary divinities in Sacrifices, in the manner prescribed by those Vedas. The barriers of sin which obstruct the passage to Svarga are thus removed; and they adore Me as Indra etc., to whom the sacrifices relate, not knowing that behind the forms represented by Indra etc., it is I that am.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rid of affliction, they enter the world of Indra \u2014the Lord of the Suras\u2014 and there taste the exquisite delights of the celestials (<em>devas<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thus do they abandon themselves to the delectations provided in the vast regions of Svarga; but when the merit which secured them all this fruit, gets exhausted, they again enter the world of the mortals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They thus forego the advantages of the ripe wisdom enshrined in the <em>Trayyantas<\/em> (=Ved\u0101ntas), but merely hunger after the material delights of Svarga etc., thus devoting themselves to the behests contained in the three Vedas, and only obtain states involving elevations and reversions (=<em>gat-\u0101gatam<\/em>=transitory states): meaning that their enjoyments in Svarga etc., are of a trivial and transient nature, involving a turning back.[4. Read <em>Bra: S\u016b:<\/em> III-1-7.]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whereas, the Mah\u0101tmas (God-wise Saints) give themselves up to ardent loving reflections of Myself, and achieve Myself, Who am the inexpressible measureless Bliss Itself, and never return.
