Chapter 9<\/a><\/p>\n << Chapter 9 verse 26<\/a><\/p>\n yath karOshi yadhaSnAsi yajjuhOshi dhadhAsi yath |<\/em> kaunthEya – Oh son of kunthI! (as ordained in vEdham) Oh son of kunthI! Whatever worldly activities you engage in (for your livelihood), whatever you eat (to sustain yourself in this world), (as ordained in vEdham) whatever hOmam (fire rituals) you do, whatever charity you do, whatever penance you do, dedicate all of those to me.<\/p>\n ‘Whatsoever you do do, do eat, do oblate, do give, do do of tapas<\/em>, Kaunteya!, do you that, as dedication (to Me).’<\/span><\/p>\n Whatsoever mundane calling you may be engaged in, out of necessity to live; whatsoever you may be eating as your food, whatsoever daily and occasional Veda-enjoined duties you may be fulfilling, such as homa<\/em> (fire-sacrifices), d\u0101na<\/em>=gifts, tapas<\/em>=austerities, deliver them all unto Me.<\/span><\/p>\n That which is dedicated, delivered, or offered up is arpa\u1e47a<\/em>. That is to say, do all acts as if the doer, the enjoyer, and the worshipped were all offered up in Me.<\/span><\/p>\n The import is this: \u2018In all acts constituting y\u0101gas<\/em> (sacrifices) and d\u0101nas<\/em> (gifts), the devas<\/em> (or lesser gods) are resorted to as objects of worship; and you are the performer of the act and the enjoyer. But both the devas<\/em> and yourself are Mine; and depend on Me alone as your Prop, and for all your impulses and very being. In Me, therefore, Who am the Absolute Lord (\u015beshi<\/em>), the Paramount Agent or Actor, offer up (1) yourself, the actor, the enjoyer, the worshipper, (2) the hosts of devas<\/em>, the worshipped; and (3) the sum of acts constituting worship.
