He well attains the permanent elimination of bad conduct. Oh son of kunthI! you yourself declare &#8220;the devotee of me (who is sarvESvara) never perishes&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h3>Rendering based on ALkoNdavilli gOvindhAchArya swAmy\u2019s English translation of gIthA bhAshyam<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216;Speedy becomes he a holy soul, and flies to eternal rest. Promise Me, Kaunteya! that My <em>Bhakta<\/em> (beloved) perisheth not.'[2. Cp: <a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/18-65-original\/\">XVIII-65<\/a>, <em>Bh: Gi:<\/em> where the Lord makes the promise to Arjuna: &#8216;Prati-j\u0101ne priyo `si Me&#8217;. In this verse, Arjuna\u2019s pledge is asked.]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Through love to Me, loving for love\u2019s sake, and ecstatically transported by that love as he is, he is soon shorn of all sin; the humours of <em>rajas<\/em> and <em>tamas<\/em> are rooted out; and he speedily becomes a holy soul (<em>dharm-\u0101tma<\/em>), that is to say, he soon becomes of a mind exclusively devoted to My worship with all its auxiliaries, unobstructed. It is this devotion which was alluded to at the commencement: <em>viz<\/em>., &#8216;of this <em>Dharma<\/em> (Path of Virtue), Parantapa!&#8217; (<a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/9-3-original\/\">Bh: Gi: IX-3<\/a>), by the term <em>Dharma<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Such a person goes to an eternal state from which there is no return, \u2014a state where all effort contrariwise to reaching Me ceases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you Kaunteya! give Me assurance as to the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/certitude\">certitude<\/a> of this opinion of Mine that, whoso is My loving votary, he perishes not, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/albeit\">albeit<\/a> his demeanour vitiated with inimical factors.
