This attribute connotes the Lord, as contra-distinguished from the changeful non-intelligent substance (matter), and the world-enmeshed intelligents (<em>sams\u0101ri-chetan\u0101\u1e25<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By the term <em>an\u0101di<\/em>, the Lord is distinguished from the liberated souls, who, though birthless, have had a beginning for their liberated state. The liberated soul is so characterized from its having had at one time association with evil. Hence by the term <em>an\u0101di<\/em> is implied that the Lord had never such association, and occupies a position antidotal to evil. \u015aruti also says:\u2014\u2018(He) stainless etc.\u2019[1. <em>\u015avet: Up:<\/em> VI-19: &#8216;Niravadyam etc&#8217;.]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thus, he who has grown wise among mortals, understands Me (1) as essentially different from, and contrary to, anything associated with evil; and (2) as the great Lord of the Kosmos, meaning the Over-lord of the several lords of the Kosmos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Asamm\u016bdha\u1e25<\/em>=the non-ignorant, or the wise; wisdom consisting in being destitute of the hallucination in that I am equal to, or I compare with, other things, or not identifying Me with, or conceiving Me as like unto, other things.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Such a devotee is delivered from all obstructive sins preventing the development of God-love (or love to Me).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The purport is this:\u2014 In the world, the king of a people is, like any of his people, a man himself; but he has become a ruler by some act (of merit): such even is the case with the king of the devas [Indra, and even the Lord of the mundane egg (Demiurge=Brahm\u0101), who are all like any other ordinary worldling. Every one of them comes under the one or the other of the three-fold <em>bh\u0101vanas<\/em>[2. <em>Bh\u0101van\u0101-traya<\/em> = (1) <em>Karma-bh\u0101vana<\/em>, (2) <em>Brahma-bh\u0101vana<\/em>, and (3) <em>Ubhaya-bh\u0101vana<\/em>. Janaka and such like persons come under (1), Sanaka and such like, under (2), and Brahm\u0101 and such like under (3)&#8217;. Consult <em>Ved\u0101rtha-Sangraha<\/em> Pp: 312-313, (Telugu Edition) and <em>Vish: Pur:<\/em> VI-7-48. And therefore they are all amenable to their acts.]. The \u015aruti declares: \u2018(He) Who creates Brahm\u0101.'[3. <em>\u015avet: Up:<\/em> VI-8: &#8216;Yo brahm\u0101\u1e47am vidadh\u0101ti.&#8217;]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The same is the case again with all those who may have even acquired the eight kinds of preter-natural powers (<em>siddh\u012bs<\/em>)[4. (1) <em>a\u1e47im\u0101<\/em> (2) <em>mahim\u0101<\/em> (3) <em>garim\u0101<\/em>, (4) <em>laghim\u0101<\/em>, (5) <em>va\u015bitvam<\/em>,<br \/>\n(6) <em>ai\u015bvaryam<\/em>, (7)<em>pr\u0101pti<\/em>, (8) <em>pr\u0101k\u0101myam<\/em>. Consult P\u0101ta\u00f1jala-Yoga-S\u016btras.]. \u2014But He: He is the (i) <em>loka-<\/em> (2) <em>mah-<\/em> (3) <em>e\u015bvara<\/em>=the Great Lord of the Kosmos:\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The Kosmos (<em>loka<\/em>) is the sum-total of all Sentient and Non-sentient Categories, in both their conditions of latency and patency, the Sentient comprising both the bound and the freed souls; \u2014the Kosmos that is lorded over by Him.<\/li>\n<li>Greatness (<em>maha<\/em>) consists in his being Antidotal to all that is evil, and the being the holy Storehouse of limitless, countless, attributes of glory.<\/li>\n<li><em>\u012a\u015bvara\u1e25<\/em>=Lord, or the being the Ruler, Essential; (or Rulership not coming as an adventitious condition).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hence, He is, unlike others, singular by Himself.
