Chapter 10<\/a><\/p>\n << Chapter 10 verse 5<\/a><\/p>\n maharshaya: saptha pUrvE chathvArO manavas thathA |<\/em> pUrvE – from the first manvanthra (reign of a manu) All creations who are present now, originated from and are descendants of seven great sages and four manus who were created by the mind (of brahmA), right from the first manvanthra [which occurs at the beginning of every day of brahmA], are engaged in following my will.<\/p>\n ‘In the past, the Maharshis Seven[1. Sub: Up:<\/em> I. ‘Sa m\u0101nas\u0101n sapta-putr\u0101n as\u1e5bijat’], and the Manus Four, were the mind-born those from whom sprang all this progeny in the world.’<\/span><\/p>\n The past is the past manvantara<\/em>. The seven[2. Sub: Up:<\/em> I. ‘Sa m\u0101nas\u0101n sapta-putr\u0101n as\u1e5bijat’] Maharshis are Bh\u1e5bigu etc, who were born from the mind of Brahm\u0101 (Demiurge) to inaugurate the Day-creation (of Brahm\u0101). The Four Manus are those named S\u0101var\u1e47ikas[3. (1) Brahma\u2014S\u0101var\u1e47ika (2) Rudra\u2014S\u0101var\u1e47ika (3) Dharma\u2014S\u0101var\u1e47ika (4) Daksha\u2014S\u0101var\u1e47ika, are the Four Sons of Priy\u0101, the daughter of Daksha. All the people of this world are descendants from these.
