You are to be known as the supreme aksharam (imperishable) as pronounced in upanishaths<br \/>\nasya viSvasya &#8211; for this world<br \/>\nparam nidhAnam &#8211; you are the shelter<br \/>\nthvam &#8211; you<br \/>\navyaya: &#8211; indestructible (in all manners)<br \/>\nthvam &#8211; you<br \/>\nSASvatha dharma gOpthA &#8211; protector of the eternal vaidhika dharmam<br \/>\nthvam &#8211; you<br \/>\nsanAthana purusha &#8211; the primordial lord (who is pronounced in upanishaths)<br \/>\nthvam &#8211; you<br \/>\nmE matha: &#8211; are understood by me (in this way)<\/p>\n<h3>Simple Translation  <\/h3>\n<p>You are to be known as the supreme aksharam (imperishable) as pronounced in upanishaths; you are the shelter for this world; you are indestructible; you are the protector of the eternal vaidhika dharmam; you are the primordial lord (who is pronounced in upanishaths); you are understood by me (in this way).<\/p>\n<h3>Rendering based on ALkoNdavilli gOvindhAchArya swAmy\u2019s English translation of gIthA bhAshyam<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216;You are to be known as the Supreme Imperishable; You are the great Shelter of this Kosmos; You are the Undecaying; the Shield of the Permanent Dharma; and I ken, You are the Primal Purusha.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You are the Supreme <em>Akshara<\/em>, or the Imperishable (=Unchanging), declared as that which is to be known, in such Upanishad Texts as:\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018There are two Vidyas (sciences) to be learnt\u2019 etc.[1. <em>Mu\u1e47d: Up:<\/em> I-1-4: Dve vidye veditavye.]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Nidh\u0101nam<\/em>=Shelter=Support=Prop (of the Universe).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Avyayah<\/em>=That which can never exhaust, for in whatever aspect, or character, or manifestation, You will to be, so do You ever remain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>The Shield of the Permanent Dharma<\/em>=The Protecter of the Eternal Laws of Virtue etc., embodied in the Vedas, by incarnating Yourself in any of the known ways (such as R\u0101ma, K\u1e5bish\u1e47a etc).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You are the Primal Purusha or Ancient Spirit as declared in such Upanishad-passages as:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018I understand this Purusha the Magnificent\u2019 etc.[2. <em>Tait: Ara\u1e47<\/em> III-12;
