Chapter 13<\/a><\/p>\n << Chapter 13 verse 10<\/a><\/p>\n adhyAthmagyAnanithyathvam thathvagyAnArthadharSanam |<\/em> adhyAthma gyAna nithyathvam – always engaging in the pursuit of knowledge about AthmA … always engaging in the pursuit of knowledge about AthmA, meditation to acquire true knowledge – these twenty qualities (seen from 7th SlOkam up to here) are said to be the means to attain Athma gyAnam and everything other than these is a hurdle in acquiring knowledge about self.<\/p>\n ‘Fixture in soul-knowledge, and meditation on knowledge regarding (spiritual)truths. This is declared to be knowledge; what is contrary thereto is ignorance.’<\/span><\/p>\n Adhy\u0101tma-j\u00f1\u0101na<\/em>=soul-knowledge=knowledge of soul. Fixture (=nityatva<\/em>=nish\u1e6dhatva<\/em>) is to be permanently established therein.<\/span><\/p>\n Tatva-j\u00f1\u0101n\u0101rtha-chintanam<\/em>=meditation or musing on such thoughts as would subserve the purpose of gaining an insight into the truths of Eternal Principles (=tatvas<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n J\u00f1\u0101nam<\/em>=knowledge=That, or the means, by which one can achieve soul-wisdom. The aggregate of virtues, viz<\/em>: Reverence etc., aforesaid, tend to produce soul-knowledge to the kshetra-conjoined soul (=embodied soul).
