Know that passions as well as virtues are matter-born.’<\/span><\/p>\n Know that from time out of beginning, exist matter (prakriti<\/em>) and soul (purusha<\/em>) enmeshed together.<\/span><\/p>\n Vik\u0101ras<\/em>=lit: modifications of properties= unspiritual tendencies or qualities=passions.<\/span><\/p>\n Gu\u1e47as<\/em>=lit: qualities=good qualities=virtues.
