Thence comes, Bh\u0101rata! the birth of all beings.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The inert or inanimate matter-stuff alluded to in: \u2018Earth, water, fire, air and space, manas, buddhi and aha\u1e47k\u0101ra, thus constitute My eightfold differentiated matter.\u2019 \u2018 But this is inferior\u2019 (<em>Gi:<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/7-4-original\/\">VII-4<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/7-5-original\/\">5<\/a>), is what is designated here by the term <em>brahma<\/em>, (the vast or great, or infinitely extended) by reason of its being the primal cause of all the differentiations which emanate therefrom in the forms of Mahat (=buddhi), Aha\u1e47k\u0101ra etc. Passages of \u015arutis are also found here and there calling matter-stuff by this name, <em>brahma<\/em>. As an <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/allusion\">allusion<\/a>, is the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Who is omniscient and all-knowing; Whose meditation is wisdom-full; Whence, this brahma (matter-stuff) and the Kosmos (<em>annam<\/em>) of (manifested) names and forms, springs forth\u2019.[1. <em>Mu\u1e47d: Up\u00b0:<\/em> II-2-7: \u2018Yas sarvaj\u00f1as etc.\u2019]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By the term <em>garbha<\/em> (=germ=foetus=embryo), the seed <em>en masse<\/em> of all <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/animate#Adjective\">animate<\/a> creatures is meant as <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/alluded\">alluded<\/a> to in:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Other than this, My superior Nature, the life-nature etc. (<em>Gi:<\/em> VII-5).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thus in the inanimate (or inert-natured womb-like vast matter-stuff I cast the seed of the aggregate of the animate principle (j\u012bva=soul).
