Vide footnote 1 to <a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/2-45-original\">verse 2.45<\/a>], are qualities matter-born, which, O Great-armed! bind the imperishable ego in the body.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Satvam, Rajas and Tamas are the three qualities (or affections or humours or tempers) of matter=those <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/inhere#English\">inhering<\/a> in the matter-stuff.
