And, I am the means for the bliss attained by a gyAni.<\/p>\n<h3>Rendering based on ALkoNdavilli gOvindhAchArya swAmy\u2019s English translation of gIthA bhAshyam<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216;I indeed am the Support of brahma (=soul), the eternal and infinite, and of the eternal Dharma; and of the absolute Bliss.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Hi<\/em>=Indeed: inasmuch as when by unerring Bhakti-yoga I am worshipped (<em>vide<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/14-26-original\/\">XIV-26<\/a>), I become the Support (or Centre) for the eternal and infinite (brahma) soul.[1. This refers to kaivalya-moksha or soul-acquisition (which is found in Me the Seat).]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Eternal Dharma<\/em>=Exquisite eternal happiness.[2. This refers to material felicities, such as Svarga etc.]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Ek\u0101ntika-sukha<\/em>= Absolute unique Bliss, which is the fruit of the saint (<em>j\u00f1\u0101ni<\/em>) who answers to the description: \u2018V\u0101sudeva is all\u2019 etc., (<em>Gi:<\/em> VII-19).[3. This refers to Brahma-pr\u0101pti or God-acquisition.]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although the expression \u2018Eternal Dharma\u2019 (the eternal laws, promulgated in the Vedas) usually implies a \u2018Means\u2019 to accomplish an \u2018End\u2019, here it means the \u2018End\u2019[4. The End, <em>viz.,<\/em> Svarga etc., which would be gained by following the laws (rituals etc.,) laid down in the Vedas.] itself, occurring as the expression does between two other expressions which also imply \u2018Ends\u2019 (<em>viz: brahma\u1e47o hi pratisht\u1e25\u0101<\/em> =soul-acquisition and <em>ek\u0101ntika-sukha<\/em> = God-acquisition).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The purport is that as declared in the Stanza:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Verily is this, My divine m\u0101y\u0101, gu\u1e47\u0101-imbued, and hard to surmount; but those who resort to Me alone as their Refuge pass this m\u0101y\u0101\u2019 (<em>Gi:<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/12-14-original\/\">XII-14<\/a>), and other stanzas following it, the surmounting of the qualities first and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/thence#Adverb\">thence<\/a> the securing of any of the goals (1) <em>akshara<\/em> (soul-gain), (2) <em>ai\u015bvarya<\/em> (material prosperity), (3) <em>Bhagavat-pr\u0101pti<\/em> (joining the Blessed Lord Himself), depends upon the Only Means being employed, <em>viz:<\/em> loving devotion to the Lord and praying Him to grant them.
