Chapter 16<\/a><\/p>\n << Chapter 16 Verse 9<\/a><\/p>\n kAmam ASrithya dhushpUram dhambhamAnamadhAnvithA: |<\/em> (The demoniac people) (to fulfil them) Holding on to unappeasable desires, due to ignorance, holding on to\u00a0 wealth earned through unlawful means, with\u00a0penances which are not sanctioned in SAsthram, they are acting with hypocrisy, pride and passion.<\/p>\n ‘Surrendered to unappeasable desires, seizing unlawful hold of things through (that) delusion; associated with hypocrisy, pride and passion; and practicing unholy vows, they prevail.’<\/span><\/p>\n (They are) overtaken by lust or desires which are insatiable or beyond hope of being gratified. The endeavour to procure them is moha<\/em> = delusion = ignorance; \u2014through ignorance, unlawfully taking hold of things (for their enjoyment).<\/span><\/p>\n A\u015buchi-vrat\u0101\u1e25 = Doing impure acts with a vow, such as acts prohibited by \u015a\u0101stra, or doing what is not \u015a\u0101stra-ordained.
