Chapter 17<\/a><\/p>\n << Chapter 17 Verse 19<\/a><\/p>\n Simple<\/a><\/p>\n d\u0101tavyam iti yad d\u0101na\u1e41 ‘That is considered S\u0101tvika-gift, which thus: \u2018it ought<\/em> to be given,\u2019 is given, to one unable to return; (given) in place, in time, and to recipient, meet<\/a>.’<\/span><\/p>\n \u2018The gift ought<\/em> to be given,\u2019 as a duty, and not in expectation of a reward. The gift is to be given to one who can render nothing back; in due place, at due time, and to a proper recipient.
