Chapter 18 Verse 21<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/18-22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Simple<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">yat tu k\u1e5btsna-vad ekasmin<br \/>\nk\u0101rye saktam ahaitukam<br \/>\natattv\u0101rtha-vad alpa\u1e41 ca<br \/>\ntat t\u0101masam ud\u0101h\u1e5btam<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216;But that (Knowledge) is called T\u0101masa, which<br \/>\nclings to one act as if it were all, without reason, without grasping the reality, and narrow.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any <em>one act<\/em>, such as constitutes the worship of the hordes of Pretas, Bhut\u0101s etc., and considering this one act, which by nature carries but small fruit, as if it were <em>all<\/em>, or as that which would bestow any and every fruit desired.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Without reason (<em>ahetukam<\/em>) = Blindly thinking that that which is productive of but small result is pregnant with all results.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Without reality<\/em> (<em>atatv\u0101rthavat<\/em>) = the notion of separateness in substance, quality etc., of \u0101tm\u0101-nature referred to previously (in Stanzas <a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/18-20-original\/\">20<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/18-21-original\/\">21<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Narrow<\/em> (<em>alpam<\/em>), since it relates to such trivial acts as those of worshipping ghosts etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After thus showing the Gu\u1e47a-formed threefold character of Knowledge as abiding in one in the capacity of Performer of an act, the Gu\u1e47a-formed threefold character of the performed Act itself is now explained:-<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/index.php\/18-23-original\/\">&gt;&gt;
