To Myself you will come. In truth I promise (this) unto you; (for) you are sweet unto Me.'[1. Cp: Krish\u1e47a giving this assurance to Draupadi: \u2018Dyauh patet, p\u1e5bithiv\u012b \u015biryet, himav\u0101n \u015bakati bhavet \u015bushyet toyanidhi\u1e25 Krish\u1e47e! na me mogham vacho bhavet.\u2019]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Manman\u0101 bhava<\/em> = \u2018Be you etc.,\u2019 expresses a Divine Command embodied in such Vedanta texts as:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018This Transcendent Purusha, of the radiance of the Sun, Who is beyond <em>tamas<\/em> (matter), I know by meditation. Knowing Him thus, one becomes here immortal. There exists no other Road for Immortality.\u2019[2. <em>Tait: Ara\u1e47:<\/em> III-12: \u2018Ved\u0101ham etam etc.\u2019]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Be you of My thought<\/em>: is with reference to one\u2019s thought being of that kind which is implied by such expressions as <em>vedana<\/em>, <em>dhy\u0101na<\/em>, <em>up\u0101sana<\/em> etc., signifying an unbroken succession of memory, intensely made vivid, so much so as to approach the reality of a sensible experience; and this joined to deep devotion, \u2014all directed to Me (as the Subject of this meditation.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Mad-bhakta\u1e25<\/em> = My lover; inasmuch as I am to you dear, make your constant thought (or meditation) of Me intensely loving, (or full of the exuberance of your emotional nature.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Mad-y\u0101ji<\/em> = My worshipper. Yajana=p\u016bjana=\u0101r\u0101dhanam=worship (and therefore not a mere dry formal observance of ceremonial ritual such as Jyotish\u1e6dhoma, <em>\u2014T\u0101t-chan<\/em>.) \u2018My worshipper,\u2019 should be read with \u2018My lover\u2019, implying that the worship or services rendered to Me should be full of love. Worship means the carrying out of the entire round of services which are incumbent on a liege (to his Sovereign and Master).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>M\u0101m namas-kuru<\/em>:, <em>namas = namanam=bending<\/em>, implying the utmost attitude of reverence, love and humility to Me. <em>Prostrate to Me<\/em> is thus not a mere physical <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/genuflection#English\">genuflection<\/a>; but the physical is to constitute outwardly the sincere expression of the love etc., felt within, \u2014<em>T\u0101t-chan<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If your conduct be like this, then will you come to Myself. This is a Truth of which I give you assurance; about which I make you promise. It is not to be interpreted as a mere hollow persuasion addressed to you, by reason that you are My beloved.
