kā prītiḥ syāj janārdana
pāpam evāśrayed asmān
hatvaitān ātatāyinaḥ

Janārdana![1. The 128th name of God. One etymology is ‘Dasyu-trānāj-Janārdanaḥ‘ (Bhārata. Ud. Parva. 71-6.] What satisfaction derive we from laying low the hosts of Dhṛitarāshtra? To slaughter these enemies is to take sin to ourselves.
