tasya sañjanayan harṣaṁ
kuru-vṛddhaḥ pitāmahaḥ
siṁha-nādaṁ vinadyoccaiḥ
śaṅkhaṁ dadhmau pratāpavān

“The Kuru ancestor, the famous old Bhīshma then, to infuse cheer into him (Duryodhana), made a lion’s roar and blew his conchshell.”
