nāhaṁ vedair na tapasā
na dānena na cejyayā
śakya evaṁ-vidho draṣṭuṁ
dṛṣṭavān asi māṁ yathā

‘Not by Vedas, not by austere penances, not by
gifts, not by sacrifices, am I to be so easily seen as Thou hast seen.’
