Simple Translation
If you don’t do this righteous war unlike explained before, due to that reason only, you would be giving up the result of your varNa dharmam (duty according to your kshathriya class) and the glories and will be incurring sins.
Rendering based on ALkoNdavilli gOvindhAchArya swAmy’s English translation of gIthA bhAshyam
‘If you would not engage in this righteous war, you should then be sacrificing your duty and fame, incurring also sin.’
If through blind sentiment or ignorance, you should fail to perform duties incumbent on a Kshatriya, viz., the prosecution of this impending contest, you should then have not only to forego the most excellent reward that would accrue to you on the due performance of one’s own bounden duty, but should also have to stake the reputation depending on victory; and instead, you should have to contract great sin.
