Isn’t it better to beg for food in this world than killing the respectable elders (like bhIshma, dhrONa)? Being attached to wealth, how will we enjoy (their) pleasures being tainted with (their) blood after killing the elders (standing) in their land?

Rendering based on ALkoNdavilli gOvindhAchArya swAmy’s English translation of gIthA bhAshyam

Than killing these noble-souled teachers, it is in this world by far nobler to subsist by mendicancy; I should have to taste blood-tainted happiness of riches and lusts.
