Evam paramparA prAptham imam rAjarishayO vidhu: |
sa kAlEnEha mahathA yOgO nashta: paranthapa ||

paranthapa – Oh torturer of enemies!
Evam – in this manner
paramparA prAptham – taught through succession of teachers in the form of sun/grandson
imam – this karma yOga
rAjarishaya: – royal sages such as janaka
vidhu: – came to know
sa: – that karma yOga
iha – in this world
mahathA kAlEna – due to the long length of time
nashta: – disappeared (due to lack of teachers)

Oh torturer of enemies! In this manner the royal sages such as janaka came to know about this karma yOga as taught through succession of teachers in the form of sun/grandson. Due to the long length of time, that karma yOga disappeared in this word.
