dhūmo rātris tathā kṛṣṇaḥ
tatra cāndramasaṁ jyotir
yogī prāpya nivartate
‘Smoke, night and similarly the dark fortnight, and the six months of the south (solstitial) declination; —there, attaining to Lunar light, the yogi returns.1‘
This indicates the Path of smoke etc., on which lies the Pitṛi-loka etc., (or the realms of the Manes). The term yogi here is used to denote the man of good deeds.
