sparśān kṛtvā bahir bāhyāṁś
cakṣuś caivāntare bhruvoḥ
prāṇāpānau samau kṛtvā
nāsābhyantara-cāriṇau

‘Shutting out all outward (sense-) contacts; fixing the eyes between the brows; equalizing the nasal currents prāṇa and apāna[1. See verses 29 and 30, ante, The amplification of this subject is Lecture VI.]’.
